The Big Apple Battle unveils! Season six of The Real Housewives of New York City is set to begin filming on Monday, May 13th—but it seems there may be a delay in production, again.
After a tense standoff with the cast members over salary, Bravo executives have threatened to cancel The Real Housewives of New York City.
The current cast members of the show, LuAnn de Lesseps, Carole Radziwill, Aviva Drescher, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Heather Thomson have reportedly rejected their individual contracts for next season– claiming they are unhappy with their low salaries.
Now, the women have approached Bravo as a group, coming together to demand pay increases!
“There’s a lot of expenses that go into being on the show. And they’re not frivolous. The cast asked for a modest increase — enough so they can cover the costs and make a little money,” an insider told Page Six.
Ramona’s pay increase doesn’t sound all that modest, however. Singer, who has been part of the show since season one, reportedly makes $500,000 a season and, sources tell Page Six, wants $1 million to appear on the sixth season. (Who does she think she is, NeNe Leakes?)
The network has yet to comment on the situation, however; a source told TMZ that the network is “FURIOUS” with the ladies.
While the future of the show remains up in the air, a former cast member of the series is living worry free in a new Hampton’s home. RumorFix reveals that the former Real Housewives of New York City star, Jill Zarin recently moved into a brand new waterfront home in Southhampton, New York.
The $8 million, 6,000 square foot home has a lavish outdoor space which includes an infinity pool and a private beach.
Congratulations to The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks! She and her husband Apollo Nida welcomed their second child into this world on Wednesday, May 8th.
“Mom and baby are happy and healthy,” her rep told US Weekly. The baby boy weighed in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces. Talk about Baby got Back!
The season four cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has yet to be officially announced. However, one thing is for sure: we will not be seeing Penny Lancaster this season.
During an appearance on Katie, Penny explained to the talk-show host Katie Couric why she rejected an offer to be a part of the popular Bravo reality show.
“Cause I’m not a Beverly Hills wife,” Lancaster said. “I’m from England, as you all probably know, and I consider myself a very down-to-earth, girl next door, so I just wouldn’t fit into that.”
Lisa Rinna will not be part of the upcoming season, either. The former Days of Our Lives star slammed rumors that she would be appearing on the reality show.
“Basically that was never gonna happen. It was interesting to watch happen without my knowledge,” she told E! News.
So, who will be joining the cast next season? Rumor has it that the Beverly Hills designer, Carlton Gebbia is still in the running as is wealthy African-American socialite, Baroness Monica Von Neumann.
Among the rumors of who’s joining the cast, who’s returning and who’s being fired, the show must go on! The cameras are rolling and following breakout star Lisa Vanderpump around the 90210, the reality star admitted to Perez Hilton. “We’re not even allowed to say we’re actually doing it – technically – but they came to follow me on Dancing With The Stars, so obviously I’m doing it,” Lisa hinted.
After only one season on NBC, the network has decided to cancel The New Normal. The comedy, created by TV legend Ryan Murphy, was about a gay couple who has a child through a surrogate mother. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, NeNe Leakes had a major role on the sitcom.
“I worked wit some of the most amazing people ever on The New Normal! I love u all! We will meet again,” NeNe tweeted on May 10th.
Although NeNe won’t be filming on The New Normal set anymore, the reality superstar is busy filming her reality television spinoff, I Dream of NeNe. The former stripper will also continue her acting role as Coach Roz on Glee which has been picked up for another season.
Over one million viewers tuned in to the series premiere of Newlyweds: The First Year on Bravo last week. The show follows four couples through the ups and downs of the first year of marriage. In case you missed it, read our Newlyweds recap here!
Kenya Moore may be the newest Atlanta housewife, but she sure isn’t the cheapest! The former Miss U.S.A. has agreed to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta next season on one condition– Moore money!
Kenya believes that her presence on the reality show this past season is one of the reasons for its success and she wants to be fairly compensated. Kenya’s Season 6 paycheck has become a “sticking point in contract negotiations,” according to TMZ. However, the negotiations should be over shortly and her return to RHOA is almost a “done deal.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice stopped by The Wendy Williams Show last week to promote her new cookbook Fabulicious: On The Grill and the upcoming season of RHONJ. While on the couch, Tre and Wendy dished about her relationship with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga.
“We’re good,” Teresa said. “Family is important.”
The table flipping reality star also talked about having more kids and who her Real Housewives friends are! Catch a clip below:
