NeNe Leakes was served an extra helping of thanks this past week. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was able to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family this year after being released from the hospital where she was being treated for blood clots.

“After some routine tests I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lung,” NeNe wrote on her website. “I’m told this happened to me because of the constant traveling around the country that I do for my job.”

“I’m thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don’t recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don’t go to the doctor and that’s when the big problems start happening,” she reported.

The future doesn’t look so bright for the stars of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The fourth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills debuted to disappointing ratings as BravoRatings reports that only a mere 1,592,000 people tuned in for the season four premiere— a major decrease in viewership compared to the season two premiere which pulled in over 2,183,000 viewers.

“The show does not have the same level of drama that it did with the original cast members Camille (Grammar), Adrienne (Maloof) and Taylor (Armstrong),” a production source told  RadarOnline. “But it also doesn’t have the Beverly Hills factor, either. That peek into the lifestyles of the rich and famous that was such a guilty pleasure during seasons one and two.”

According to TV by the Numbers, The Real Housewives of Miami, which recently wrapped its third season, suffered from a ratings decline as well. The season premiered with 1.35 million views and dipped under one million for seven of the sixteen episodes.

Both franchises are dwarfed by the ratings powerhouse The Real Housewives of Atlanta—which currently averages over 3.2 million viewers per episode and has shown a steady increase in viewership season after season.

Despite the reports that Gretchen Rossi was canned from The Real Housewives of Orange County, ChristyReports claims that Gretchen and fiancée Slade Smiley were being followed by a camera crew at a recent charity event.

“They [the camera crew] followed her around all night and I noticed one of them had on a badge that said Marriage Bootcamp,” the website insider reported. “It’s a WEtv spin-off of Bridezillas.”

Production for season nine of The Real Housewives of Orange County is already underway. In fact, a recent tweet from Tamra Barney reveals that she, Vicki Gunvalson, and Heather Dubrow have already started filming— which included taking a girls trip to Hawaii.

Joe Giudice’s rap sheet continues to expand. According to a report obtained by the Montville Patch, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star was pulled over, again, for driving without an inspection sticker on his vehicle. Joe was also ticketed for not having a valid insurance card.

Earlier this month, Joe was cited by police for careless driving in a school zone.

Joe, who has a long history of driver’s license suspensions, is currently awaiting trial for a separate driving incident after allegedly impersonating his brother, Pete Giudice, to illegally obtain a driver’s license after his own was suspended for a DWI.

The Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed to The Star-Ledger that Giudice’s license has been suspended 47 times since he received it in 1987.

The anticipation for season six of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is high as the production team is rushing to capture all the drama surrounding Teresa and Joe Giudice’s legal troubles. The couple face a federal trial in February.

Congratulations to Kim Zolciak and her husband, NFL player Kroy Biermann, who welcomed twins this past week.

“Guess what?!!! The twins have arrived!” the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star wrote on Instagram. “We welcomed first a baby girl and second a handsome little boy. They are both healthy and Kroy and I are so thankful!!”

Their daughter’s name is Kaia Rose, who was named in honor of  Kim’s psychic, Rose, who has been featured throughout Kim’s tenure on RHOA. Their son’s name is Kane Ren, who was named in honor of her OB-GYN, who delivered five of her six children.

Kim and Kroy additionally have two sons together, Kroy Jr., 2, and Kash, 15 months. Biermann also recently adopted Zolciak’s two daughters, Brielle and Ariana from previous relationships.

Each week we will rummage through the Bravo vault to find vintage photos from the past, revisit a classic moment from one of our favorite shows, or update the status of a past Real Housewives cast-member! Recently, we featured an update on the former Real Housewives of New York City star Alex McCord and her husband Simon van Kempen.

This week, we will revisit a classic Real Housewives moment and find out what one former Real Housewives of D.C. star has been up to since the series cancellation.

It became national headlining news when two cast members of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of D.C. crashed the White House State Dinner in 2009.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi made a splash in the headlines when they attended an elite White House party—without invites.  Facebook photos of the couple posing with Vice President Joe Biden indicate that the couple had up-close access to some of Washington’s most powerful successors, without actually being on the guest list.

Real Housewives producers revealed they had been filming with the Salahis for RHODC prior to the event and were told by the couple that they were invited. Despite the couples claim, they later plead the fifth during a federal security investigation.

After numerous legal battles, the couple split  in 2012. Michaele then ran off with Journey guitarist Neal Schon and the two have been an item ever since. Michaele and Neal are currently engaged and busy planning their upcoming wedding.

If you have yet to receive your invitation for the nuptials, don’t fret! According to ABC News, the former reality star is broadcasting her wedding via a Pay-Per-View television special—for only $14.95 you can be added to the virtual guest list and avoid federal investigations!

The upcoming December 15th broadcast entitled Neal & Michaele: The Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event will be hosted by The View’s Debbie Matenopoulos and All My Children’s Cameron Mathison and will feature live performances by the groom’s band, Journey.

There’s a lot of whiny bratitude  on reality TV these days. On Monday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills the women were whining and arguing over some pretty petty issues. Brandi Glanville stressing about a paparazzo calling her a “bully” in front of  her kids and Kyle Richards calling a tabloid claim that Mauricio cheated “the worst nightmare of our lives” made me roll my eyes. Sunday’s Atlanta Housewives featured Kenya Moore’s quipping that she can’t live  in anything smaller than five thousand square feet…she’s one person. I’m in a family of four and, well, I don’t even think I have two thousand. Don’t even get me started on the Tankards.

Are we watching these people because their level of materialistic standards are ridiculous to the point that it’s entertaining or do we aspire to be, as Nene Leakes would say, “rich bitch”? It’s an interesting conundrum in this still challenged economic climate.

There’s still such a large divide in this country between the haves and the have- nots. Being middle class is far different now than it was when I was a child. I don’t recall my parents living paycheck to paycheck. We always were able to take vacations. It wasn’t until a divorce occurred that I ever even knew money could be a worry.

These days it’s just not so easy. Middle class families struggle to make ends meet. My generation is the first that will not exceed the financial comfort of our parents…most of us won’t even tie it. Being a product of the eighties and nineties makes being an adult of the now teens a challenging experience. I think a lot of us are asking “Who Moved My Cheese?”

I sometimes wonder if watching these shows is mentally healthy. Bravo TV recently ran a contest to promote the new season of Shahs Of Sunset in which people posted pleas for luxury items they wanted. Some of the contestants spoke of “needing” such items as Chanel purses and Louis Vuitton business card holders. I am not condemning the coveting of luxury items. I have a Chanel purse myself. Do I love it? Yes. Has it enhanced my life? Would I be any less well off without it? No and definitely not.

I’ve often found that getting certain things begets wanting more. It’s really never enough which is why we keep, as a culture, shopping and shopping. What void are we all trying to fill? Amazing that some of these very television personalities we envy as having it all end up embroiled in financial hot water.

I sometimes look at what my parents had amassed by my age and look at what I have. There is a definite disparity. There’s no denying times are tougher, but when I step back and think about what I do have I must admit I’m luckier than most. I think in general if you are reading this article chances are you are too.

Birth is a lot like the lottery. This is a notion I think about often. I, you, we could have been born anywhere into any situation. How lucky to be born in a place with clean water, accessibility of food, electricity. How lucky that we are part of a culture that could even aspire to overindulgence.

I don’t want to preach but I myself will be reflecting over the Thanksgiving holiday about these things. I am often guilty of comparing myself to others, especially on Facebook and feeling that I don’t measure up or aren’t where I should be professionally of financially. I’m learning none of it matters. I’m learning to appreciate what I do have in lieu of lamenting about what I don’t. I’m also really trying to give back whenever I can, no matter how small.

It’s time to trade bratitude to gratitude. It would be nice to see some of this happen on television. Life often imitates art.

Hi all, filling in for Brent Osborne the Housewife Guy this week.  I hope I can do him justice.

So, here’s what’s up. According to Us Magazine,  Khloe Kardashian has revealed that it was no big surprise when her mom Kris and stepdad Bruce Jenner announced their split.  Apparently the two have been living apart for some time.  Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the younger siblings  are rumored to be having a harder time than the older kids understanding what’s going on between their parents.

Did Vito Scalia’s proposal to Lauren Manzo make Manzo’d With Children?  Initial reports said filming had ended prior to the engangement, which Lauren told People Magazine was witnessed by both families. However, Caroline Manzo tweeted a picture the other day of ongoing production. So will it be another wedding by Bravo?  If extranged aunt/sister Dina Manzo shows it could make for some real Jersey drama. Lauren says she’ll still invite her aunt Dina even though they’re not speaking.  Lauren also told People that she has no clue how many carats her new sparkler is. Looks like it’s about 4 to us Lauren!

ABC announced that a new season of The Bachelor, number eighteen to be exact, will air Monday January sixth.  The new victim, excuse me, contestant is Juan Pablo Galavis, father of four year old Camilla…and he’s from Miami!  Sunday the fifth of January, ABC will air an one-hour show entitled The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo which gives us a look at the day-to-day life of our new guy and his daughter.  To learn more about Juan Pablo read all about last season of The Bachelorette .

Reality Tea reports that our favorite preggo ex Real Housewife of Atlanta Kim Zolciak is due any second with twins.  She and husband Kroy Biermann have chosen to be surprised, and have no idea what they’re having.  They have supposedly come up with names for the two. I guess we’ll have to wait a little longer to see if the names will be brought to you by the letter “K”.

I watched earlier this week as Andy Cohen appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The producer/talk show host told us that when Lady Gaga peed in her Watch What Happens Live dressing room he had an assistant collect and bottle it.  Apparently his assistant found an online concoction where you mix the pee with alcohol and turn it into perfume. They put it in a pretty bottle and keep it in the Clubhouse.   Andy says that although it’s gross, it’s definitely a Pop Culture artifact that’s going to be worth something one day.

Bravo premieres Courtney Loves Dallas  December fifth at 10:00 pm.  The new half hour series features the former star of Most Eligible Dallas Courtney Kerr.  The show chronicles her day-to-day life as a fashion blogger and “all that that entails”.  Urban Cowboy Fans, see if you can find that line in the movie, wink wink.

Would you watch a Manzo wedding? Will Dina show up on her niece’s special day? How much would Lady Gaga “Peefume” sell for on Ebay? Will you watch The Bachelor? What is Kim having? What are your thoughts on the promos for Courtney Loves Dallas? Share your opinion to win giftcards from Wrapadoo
