There is nothing she can’t do! NeNe Leakes, star of Bravo’s hit reality show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has found huge success with her new fashion line for HSN.
The 17-piece collection, which launched late last month, has already sold out in various styles. The line features blouses, tunics, dresses, cardigans, and relaxed roll-on pants.
“I wanted women of all ages, all shapes, all sizes to feel comfortable and confident in the clothes that they’re wearing,” Leakes said in a recent interview with MadameNoire. “My motto was, for every woman to walk into her closet, walk out of her closet and own it. I just want them to own it.”
With the success of her clothing line, NeNe is looking to expand her television resume to include talk show host. Since the departure of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy on the popular morning talk show The View, NeNe is hoping to be considered as a replacement host.
“I would love to do a talk show one day,” NeNe told Entertainment Tonight. “That’s definitely on my bucket list. I already work with five or six women so I know how that can be. Working on The View is probably like working on the Housewives. I would love to get in there and chop it up with those girls.”
However, that may not be possible. Rumor has it that returning host Rosie O’Donnell has a “No Reality Star” clause in her contract. When ET asked Nene about it she responded that she was disappointed. She was also quick to point out that the pair had had a splendid time together hosting Anderson Cooper‘s show in 2012. Could that have been the experience that soured Rosie?
While fans of The RHOA will be seeing plenty of NeNe next season, they may be seeing a little less of Phaedra Parks.
According to E! News, Phaedra is not leaving the show (as was reported last month); however, she is taking a few weeks off from filming Season 7 to focus on her family.
Phaedra and Apollo Nida‘s marriage is reportedly on “shaky ground” with his pending prison sentence.
“Phaedra and Apollo’s marriage is on very shaky ground right now,” a source told E! “Phaedra is trying to keep everything contained and protect her kids, which is why she’s taking time off from the show. She does not want their ordeal shown on TV.”
“He has not been showing her the same respect,” a source says. “He’s been filming a lot. He’s been out and about and trying to be seen as much as possible before he goes to jail. Right now, he’s not exactly sure when that will be so he’s living it up while he can.”
According to federal court documents, Apollo deposited millions of dollars worth of “fraudulently obtained checks” into almost 40 bank accounts that had been opened using “stolen identities.”
Apollo, 35, is set to serve five years under parole supervision after he completes his eight years in a federal prison.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta began filming for the seventh season of the show earlier this summer with Phaedra and returning cast members Porsha Williams, Cynthia Bailey, NeNe Leakes, Kandi Burruss, and Kenya Moore.
