Reality Roundup: New York Concerns and New Jersey Returns!

After a season of poor ratings, Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City is in desperate need of help! Although RHONY has not been given the green light for a seventh season, rumor has it that RHONY producers are in talks with the cast about another round.

LuAnn (DeLesseps) is back for sure,” a source revealed to Confidenti@l . “They are now negotiating her fee. Last season The Countess was paid a day rate every time she filmed as a ‘friend’ on the show. Plus, she got a bonus if her scene made it into the series.”

Carole (Radziwill) is also safe,” the source added. “She is a dear friend of Andy’s and has formed a genuine friendship with Heather Thomson. This is what the show is looking for,” adds another insider. “They want genuine relationships and drama, and want to stay away from anything the ladies ‘stage’ to make good TV — such as throwing an artificial leg.

While the other ladies may be back for another ride, the Real Housewives train may not be departing for Aviva Drescher.

“It is the end of the road for Aviva,” Confidenti@l reports. “She has not been told anything officially, but has been told if she wants to start looking for other TV opportunities, it is fine with Bravo.”

As for Ramona Singer, the only way she will be back is if she opens up about her marital problems, a friend of the New York City housewife revealed. “At the reunion, Ramona shut down any questions of her doomed marriage. She will not be able to do that if she returns.”

Ramona, 57, initially filed for divorce in January 2014 after catching her husband of 22 years, Mario, and his supposed girlfriend, together in their Hamptons home.

“I tried to make my marriage work because I have strong values and I believe that people make mistakes,” Ramona told People Magazine earlier this month. “But you reach a point where you realize the other person isn’t putting in as much effort as you are. And I reached my breaking point.”

She’s baaaack! After being noticeably absent from the new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Caroline Manzo and her family are back on Bravo in their own spinoff series, Manzo’d with Children.

The show will feature Caroline’s children, Lauren, Albie, and Chris, and husband, Al, with special appearances by her sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline’s other siblings.

“We had an absolute blast filming,” Caroline told Bravo’s The Dish. “It’s fun. It’s lighthearted. You really get the picture of who we are as a family, so we’ll see what happens.”

Catch a glimpse of what is to come here! Manzo’d With Children premieres on Bravo October 5th!

If you haven’t heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by now, you are probably living under a rock. As of Aug. 29, in addition to raising awareness, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has raised over $100 million in support Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (AKA Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

In an effort to raise money and awareness, Bravolebrities from across the nation have been participating in the challenge.

Kathy Griffin participated in the challenge by going commando for the shoot. “I thought I should take it up a notch,” she told the late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel after being nominated by Suze Orman, Aubrey Plaza, Margaret Cho and Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean. More like she took it “up a crotch”!

Start stirring your gravy and fryin’ your meatballs… The Real Housewives of New Jersey are back! Bravo has announced that the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will premiere on Sunday, July 13th.

Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are the only Housewives returning this season. In addition, RHONJ alum, Dina Manzo will be re-joining the cast.

“Well I guess the (hairless) cats out of the bag,” Dina tweeted when filming started. “Yes I’m back. Unlike the past this time it felt ‘right’ … See you on Bravo my friends.”

Dina’s sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita, who has starred on the show since it’s inception, will not be part of the season six cast. Caroline Manzo has also departed from the series. Caroline’s upcoming spinoff pilot, Manzo’d With Children, was recently picked up for season one and, according to her Twitter will air in fall 2014. We caught up with Caroline at a recent event! Find out what she had to say about Manzo’d with Children and her departure form The Real Housewives of New Jersey here!

Although Kathy Wakile is no longer part of the cast, she and her sister Rosie will be making an appearance or two in the upcoming season, Melissa Gorga revealed during an appearance at the Tampa Home and Garden Show last week. When we recently saw the sisters, they too confirmed their involvment on the show.

Three new Housewives will be joining the cast this season! Amber Marchese and identical twins Teresa Aprea and Nicole Mauriello are sure to fuel some great drama this season. Amber, a breast cancer survivor, is a New Jersey native with a no-nonsense attitude. Teresa Aprea, and her husband, Rino, are the owners of famous restaurants, Angelo’s of Mulberry Street in Little Italy, and Ponte Vecchio in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She and her husband have an 18-year-old son, Giovanni. Nicole Mauriello is a two-time divorcee (Hey, at least that’s better than 19 engagements…), a fashionista and a mother to two teenage boys, Joey, 14, and Anthony, 16.

Teresa and Joe Giudice’s legal drama will be a major story this season. After pleading guilty to multiple fraud and tax evasion charges, Teresa and Joe are currently awaiting their sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for July 8th.

“Obviously, Teresa is going to be a key character in the upcoming season, and Bravo wants to maximize her storyline,” an insider revealed to Radar Online last month.

Viewers can also expect some catfights, yelling, and stripping & cheating allegations. Oh yes, more stripping & cheating allegations!

Pink slip or just no trip? Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City have been questioning the absence of Aviva Drescher from the show after her dialogue was erased from the opening credits.

TheHollywoodGossip reported the mother of four was being “disciplined by producers with a forced three-episode hiatus,” while other reports suggest Aviva’s disappearance is simply a publicity stunt to drum up interest in the ratings starved show.

Aviva broke her silence regarding the matter, telling Radar “I wasn’t (disciplined) … back on in two weeks,” adding that she did not want to go on the Berkshire trip due to health concerns involving her prosthetic leg and asthma.

However, Radar has learned that these recent episodes are not the only ones Aviva will be cut from this season.

“Aviva has had a really bad time this season,” a source revealed. “Because she refused to go on two separate trips with the rest of the women the producers are fuming at her and they’re taking her out of the show as punishment.”

“Aviva also refused to go to Montana with the women, so she won’t be in those upcoming episodes either and they’re planning to do the same thing with the opening credits – take her out of them,” the insider continued. “No one would want her to risk her health or anything if that’s the reason she claimed was why she didn’t go, but the producers are fed up with her now.”

Aviva’s frequent absences may lead to a major cast change. “Aviva might get axed from the show at the end of the season,” the source said. “Her storyline about Bookgate was dumb and then not being part of the rest of the show is making her more difficult so the producers are seriously considering firing her at the end of the season.”

We reached out to Aviva when the first Aviva Free episode aired two weeks ago, but she was unresponsive.

Reality Roundup

NYC season five new girls Heather, Carole, and Aviva.

The future of one Real Housewives franchise is not looking bright.

The second longest-running Real Housewives series, The Real Housewives of New York City, may soon come to an end. According to Starcasm, Bravo executives may pull the plug on the NYC installment if the ratings for the upcoming sixth season do not meet requirements.

“Insiders are worried,” a source told Naughty But Nice. “If this season does not do well in the ratings, I’m not sure if they will recast it or just face the fact that it is over.”

Previous attempts at recasting after the fourth season did little to improve ratings. And despite their lack of popularity, the current cast and the network had a tense stand off this past spring over salary.

The current cast members of the show, LuAnn de Lesseps, Carole Radziwill, Aviva Drescher, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Heather Thomson all reportedly rejected their individual contracts for season 6– claiming they were unhappy with their low salaries.

Both sides ended up compromising and filming proceeded. “The Housewives took the modest pay increases Bravo was offering for season 6 rather than continue to hold out for big raises and risk getting booted off the Big Apple version of the multi-city reality franchise,” Deadline reported.

The anticipated sixth season of the show is set to air this February. Season five ended in the fall of 2012, making this the longest gap between old and new episodes of the series in Real Housewives franchise history.

Someone call Sir Dwight Eubanks! A baby shower may need to be planned for one Real Housewives of Atlanta star!

On last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, star Kenya Moore opened up about her desire to be a mother in the future. Now, Kenya says she wants one this year!

“I plan on having a baby next year,” Kenya told Life & Style. “Within the next six months, I hope to be pregnant.”

Kenya plans on having a baby whether she finds Prince Charming or not! “I am going to do in vitro,” she revealed. “I just have to figure out whose sperm to use.”

“I have some options,” Kenya said. She even stated she is thinking about asking RHOA guest-star Miss Lawrence Washington to be a donor. “I wouldn’t mind having a modern family.”

“I want to give my baby the childhood I never had,” she said. “I want to be there for my children, and I want them to know they aren’t invisible.”

Speaking of Atlanta babies, former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Kim Zolciak introduced her newborn twins to the world for the first time this week. The Don’t be Tardy star posted photos of the twins via Instagram.

“Baby Kaia up close!” the 35-year-old mother wrote alongside a picture of her newborn daughter. “She looks just like Brielle did!!” She also shared a photo of her  youngest son, writing, “Kane‘s close up!! My life this morning KJ is soooo in love Kane weighs 10lbs he is my little ‘tank.'”

Kim and her husband Kroy Biermann welcomed their newborn twins on November 25th of last year. Kim and Kroy have two other sons together—K.J. and Kash. Zolciak is also the mother to daughters Brielle and Ariana from previous relationships. Kroy legally adopted the two girls after he and Kim wed on November 11th, 2011.

Filming for the new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is officially underway!

Rumor has it, the two new additions to the cast, twin sisters Nicole and Teresa Napolitano are stirring things up!  The sisters are reportedly not getting along with sister-in-laws Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga.

In addition, despite the rumored reconciliation, there has been no peace in New Jersey for the Manzo sisters.

An inside source revealed to TBBReality that a reconciliation between sisters Caroline and Dina Manzo has NOT happened.

“They [Caroline and Dina] have not kissed and made up. In fact, the ladies are still at war,” a source close to the production told New York Daily News.

“Don’t believe a word of it. They did not make friends,” a Manzo family friend told Confidenti@l. “She [Dina] has made zero attempt to be with the family.”

In fact, when Caroline’s beloved Jack Russell terrier, Austin passed away on Christmas Day, the two sisters did not speak about the matter.

Season six of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is expected to return to the small screen late this spring. The cast members began filming the first week of December.

The search for some new couples is on! Bravo has officially renewed it’s series Newlyweds: The First Year.

The series chronicles all of the trials and tribulations that arise between  newlywed couples. Season two will follow four brand new couples through the highs and lows of their first year of marriage.

The first season of Newlyweds: The First Year, which averaged 1.3 million viewers, followed four couples– Alaska and Kimberly, Blair and Jeff, John and Kathryn, and Tarz and Tina.

While season two of the show will feature a brand new cast, some of the original couples are trying to extend their fifteen minutes of fame.

In a recent interview, season one cast member Tina Sugandh dished on her and her husband Tarz’s reality television future.

We’re working on a few new business and entertainment opportunities,” she revealed. “All I will tell you guys is that you haven’t seen the last of us yet! We’re out there in ‘TV land’ taking meetings and starting up some sh*t…Stay tuned!”

“Enjoy it! It’s a ride!!!”, Tina advised the season two cast.  “Don’t be afraid to put it all out there. Even if you look like an ass, who really cares? […] you could be helping people by being a totally open book.”
