Reality Roundup

Happy Sunday lovies. Our resident busy bee Brent Osborne  is off making that honey, so I’m going to borrow his gossiper wings today!

We start off this week’s Reality Roundup with the story everybody I know has been asking me about. Real Housewives of New Jersey Stars Teresa and Joe (Giuseppe) Giudice will not be sentenced this month as originally planned. According to The Bergen Record the couple, who pleaded guilty in March to financial frauds that spanned 8 years, will be handed their sentences on October 2nd.

Teresa’s attorney, Harry E. Klingman told The Record this kind of delay isn’t uncommon. “Typically sentences get postponed so that everybody involved can be fully prepared. The court is waiting on information from all sides- the defense, the government and probation- so it’s postponed by a couple of weeks.

Both Teresa and Joe could face jail time and Joe, who is an Italian citizen, could be deported. The original court date was September 23d.

Filming for The Real Housewives of Atlanta ‘s seventh season is well underway and it appears the ladies will be living la vida loca! E Online!  shared a picture of the cast partying in Puerto Rico.

The picture was on new Housewife Demetria McKinney ‘s Instagram account with the caption “I love my life! Performed #11 and celebrated my birthday in style and beauty with these ladies! XOXO!”

McKinney; whose website biography calls the singer, actress, song writer and dancer “a river with many streams”; joins the cast along with Claudia Jordan. Jordan is a pageant queen and model whose credits include showcasing prizes on The Price is Right, carrying a briefcase on Deal or No Deal and competing on two seasons of Celebrity Apprentice.

The two newbies will join veteran stars Nene Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Porsha Stewart, and Kenya Moore. The shenanigans are rumored to commence later this fall on Bravo.

It’s a good thing that RHOA will be finished filming soon, because Nene needs to hustle up north.  From November 25th to January 3d the self proclaimed rich Bitch will be playing the ultimate bitch in the final run of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway. Leakes is going to be playing the evil stepmother, or Madame as she is referred to in the show.

Leakes follows in some other famous footsteps. Madame was played by Fran Drescher earlier this year and will be performed by Sherri Shepherd starting on September 9th until Nene comes to town.

Cast shakeup on ratings troubled The Real Housewives of New York City. Life and Style Weekly reports that Ramona Singer will be demoted to a recurring role on next season’s RHONY. “Bravo is casting the show around Heather Thomson and Kristen Taekman and Carole Radziwill,an insider told the magazine. The source also says that Ramona is the reason for the ratings slump saying, that it all went south when she “carried the show”.

Without an apple in her hand, RHONY will be the first Housewives franchise to no longer star any original cast members. Tack this on to her divorce from husband Mario and her now empty nest with daughter Avery off at college and, well, I’d be shocked if there are any full bottles of Ramona Pinot left in her wine cooler. The queen of pinot was reportedly earning $600,000 per season of New York City Housewives.

Ramona isn’t the only bite producers have taken out of the Big Apple. It’s been reported that Aviva Drescher is no longer going to be throwing down her prosthetic leg. E Online! said its sources have confirmed that the Leggy Blonde has been fired.

Drescher was taken out of opening credits several shows last season due to her absence from two cast trips. When the girls questioned her story about having to miss a Montana trip due to asthma, Drescher got angry and threw the leg down, a stunt she has repeatedly said was not planned. Radziwill told Buzzfeed that executive producers told some of the cast that Drescher’s husband Reid had offered to get Aviva to Montana if they could guarantee her a spot on season 7, which caused them to question  if her asthma was really the issue.

I chatted with Aviva recently, and though she did not confirm or deny the firing, she did seem like she is in a good place. Outside RHONY I have found Aviva to be kind, elegant, and down to earth. Hopefully she can now put her best leg forward and start the next chapter of her life.

Tell us, would you watch RHONY without Ramona and Aviva? Would you see Nene on Broadway? What do you think will happen at Tre and Joe’s sentencing? Share your thoughts below.

Reality Roundup: Custody Battles, Cat Fights, and Court Dates!

Tamra Barney (Source: Judy Eddy/WENN)

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney remains entangled in a brutal custody battle with ex-husband Simon Barney.

Tamra’s RHOC co-star star and on-again-off-again BFF, Vicki Gunvalson is shooting down rumors that she’s a neglectful mother.

“When Tamra told us how hard it was for her to share her children 50 percent of the time with Simon, I felt so bad for her,” Vicki wrote in her Bravo blog last week. “Having the void of not having the three kids around when they are at their dad’s I’m sure is huge.”

Last month, Simon filed paperwork seeking modification of his and Tamra’s child custody agreement. In the documents, Simon claimed Tamra was an unfit mother and does not properly feed the children or keep up with their hygiene.

“This has been the most devastating week of my family’s life,” Tamra wrote in her Bravo blog last week. “I want to thank my family, friends, therapist, fans, and complete strangers for their support.”

“My children are my life, and I love and cherish them with all my heart,” Tamra continued. “I believe that divorced children should have both parents in their lives. I have always told the children that it would be great if their dad could live right across the street so they could see us both every day. It’s unfortunate that he doesn’t feel the same way.”

Simon “knew the papers would be made public,” Tamra told In Touch. “It’s sickening that he would do it this way, just to hurt me.”

The jig is up! Apollo Nida, husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Pheadra Parks, was charged with fraud earlier this year. Now, in U.S. District Court Wednesday, Apollo Nida’s co-conspirator Gayla St. Julien has pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Gayla’s plea resulted in a 61-month prison sentence, according to the Atlanta Journal.

Apollo and Gayla worked together from 2009 until 2013. The pair allegedly laundered close to $3 million together through fraudulent bank accounts and companies.

Apollo is still working out a plea deal of his own. According to court records obtained by Radar Online, Nida allegedly created companies “purporting to be collection agencies,” the documents read, “in order to obtain access to the personal [information] of others,” and then used that information to take out loans and purchase checks.

Despite the harsh consequences Apollo may be facing, “we’re still staying positive,” he told Radar. “I feel good about the support I’m getting…All the support’s been needed.”

The sixth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey may have encountered a production delay!

Bravo doesn’t have an air date for the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey because of Teresa Giudice’s prison sentencing hearing,” an insider told Radar Online.

After pleading guilty to multiple fraud and tax evasion charges last month, Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice, are currently awaiting their sentencing hearing scheduled for July 8th.

“Obviously, Teresa is going to be a key character in the upcoming season, and Bravo wants to maximize her storyline,” the insider continued. “Having Teresa available to do press interviews and promotions is essential.”

“Teresa’s legal team absolutely won’t let her do any interviews before the sentencing hearing because it could impact her sentence,” the insider added. “If Teresa was out doing press interviews promoting RHONJ before the July 8 sentencing, it would look like she wasn’t taking the process seriously which she definitely is. After the sentence is handed down, it’s expected Bravo will officially give season 6 a premiere date.

Although Teresa is holding out for house arrest, she and Joe could potentially face years behind bars.

Bravo executives are “hopeful that Joe will be sent to prison first, and will be ordered to serve time before Teresa’s sentence is served. Teresa is contractually obligated to do press for the show, but the network is working with her because of her legal problems.”

Despite the unconventional drama, Teresa “is trying to keep things as normal as possible for her daughters.”

It wasn’t the first time hair was pulled on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but the brawl that happened on the RHOA Reunion this past Sunday was one for the history books!

The altercation, which happened on March 27th, led to an arrest—Porsha Williams Stewart was charged with simple battery against her co-star Kenya Moore.

The 31-year-old reality star was immediately released after posting $2,000 bond.

Over 4.1 million viewers tuned in this past Sunday to witness Porsha grabbing Kenya’s hair, pulling her to the ground, and dragging her across the floor.

“I’ve sat through many reunion shows, but this one takes the cake for me,” RHOA co-star NeNe Leakes wrote on her personal blog. “My feelings are simple! You TAUNT, you INVADE people’s personal space, you PUSH, you PROVOKE, you LIE and yet you don’t condone violence! Well, what message are you sending?”

“I feel like I’ve been put in provoking situations all season,” NeNe continued. “If I had reacted in a violent manner in any of these situations I would be considered the bad one, the one that is wrong, the one that is mean. But at the same time is all of THIS really okay? When is it ‘okay’ to BULLY someone, then question retaliation?”

Porsha will break her silence when she appears on Tuesday’s edition of The View to discuss the incident.

Part two of The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion will air tonight, Sunday April 27th at 8pm.

Catch a clip of the brawl below:

Editor’s Note: Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Kathy Wakile‘s daughter Victoria underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor last week. Though friends of the family told us they did not know, the news became public when both Kathy and Victoria tweeted and instagrammed about the surgery which appears to have been successful. This is the second time Victoria has had brain surgery of this kind, the first when she was a child. We wish Victoria a speedy recovery.

Reality Roundup: Babies, Bankruptcies, and Bailouts, oh my!

Bravo’s new slate of programming for the upcoming year is sure to be a hit. Three Real Housewives franchises will be returning, so far, as well as two returning spin-offs and two new spin-offs.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta has already been renewed and the Atlanta ladies will be returning for a seventh season. Season five of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is on the network’s agenda and The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return for its sixth season this summer. The Real Housewives of Miami was noticeably absent from the list of returning series; however, Bravo has yet to announce a cancellation.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spinoff Vanderpump Rules was  renewed for a third season and the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak will be coming back to Bravo for the third season of her spinoff, Don’t Be Tardy.

Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo will return to the network to star in her own family-centric spinoff series, Mazo’d with Children. The show, which is set to debut later this year, will feature Lauren Manzo’s engagement.

Bravo cameras were rolling as The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss said “I Do” to Todd Tucker earlier this month.  The series will document Kandi’s long journey down the aisle.

Additionally, Bravo  handed season renewals to many other series including The Millionaire Matchmaker Season 8, Fashion Queens Season 3, Shahs of Sunset Season 4, Watch What Happens Live, and second seasons of Thicker Than Water and Blood, Sweat & Heels.

Check out the full list of new and returning programs at BravoTV.com.

On the set of The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion taping last month, things got physical between cast mates.

According to multiple reports, Porsha Stewart got into a brawl with castmate Kenya Moore while filming the reunion special. A police report was filed and an arrest warrant in connection with the altercation was processed for Porsha.

TMZ reports that Porsha turned herself in on Wednesday to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and was booked on misdemeanor battery charges. The RHOA star was immediately released after taking a glamorous mug-shot and posting $2,000 bail.

See what went down tonight on Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.

No means no! Former Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel has turned down offers to return to the ratings-challenged Real Housewives installment.

Although Andy Cohen is no longer a Bravo executive, “Honchos at the network asked him [Andy] to reach out to Bethenny and ask her if she would be open to making a return to RHONY,” an insider told Radar. “The hope was she would come back as a regular cast member, but Bethenny was also offered a guest role.”

“Bethenny didn’t even take time to think it over [before saying] no,” the source revealed. “She has absolutely no plans at this time to return to reality television. She believes she has moved on from that.”

Although Bethenny will not be returning to reality television anytime soon, “she would love to appear on television again in a different capacity,” the insider added. “Perhaps even as a fill-in host for Andy on Watch What Happens Live.”

Bethenny’s self-titled network talk show was cancelled earlier this year.

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes…..you guessed it! Just days after saying “I Do”, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss says that she and her husband Todd are ready to start their own family.

“We’re trying now for a baby!” Kandi revealed in the new issue of In Touch. “We haven’t succeeded yet. If it happens today, then we’re good with it.”

“We’re really looking forward to having kids together,” Kandi dished. “I can’t wait to [have] one big family!” Kandi has one daughter Riley, 11, and Todd has a daughter Kaela, 17. Both are from previous relationships.

In addition to pleading guilty to multiple federal fraud charges last month, The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice are in a crushing amount of debt.

The reality stars will only be ordered to pay back $7,500 of the whopping $13 million debt they cited in a 2009 bankruptcy filing.

“We just want the money she owes us,” an employee of the North Hudson IVF fertility clinic, one of the Giudices’ creditors, revealed to Radar. “We’re just a company that helps people.” Teresa was rumored to have undergone multiple fertility treatments at the clinic in order to conceive the couple’s youngest daughter Audriana. Radar reports that the Giudices owe the clinic $11,765.59 for their services.

According to bankruptcy documents obtained by Radar, some of the Giudice’s debts include $5.4 million to Wachovia, close to $2 million to the Community Bank of Bergen County and over $1 million to Dime Savings Bank. They also owe thousands of dollars in back taxes to the State of New Jersey and the IRS.

“If it weren’t for the money she’s made from Real Housewives of New Jersey, she would be in serious financial trouble right now,” a source revealed to Radar. “Her book sales have been very low, and Teresa hasn’t been offered any gigs for paid promotional appearances either,” the source continued. “It’s a foregone conclusion, Teresa absolutely will have to sell her beloved New Jersey mansion. She’s terrified she could end up homeless.”

Teresa and Joe are currently awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to multiple federal fraud charges. They both could be spending years behind bars.

RHOC‘s Tamra Judge is in a very bitter and public battle with ex husband Simon Barney for custody of their three children. According to Radar Online Simon is using evidence, including school absentee forms that show Tamra forgetting to call in the children’s absences, to prove a pattern of neglect. A series of text messages between Tamra and her 15 year old daughter Sidney have also been made public in which Sidney states that her mother is acting selfish and break(s) promises. In the conversation Tamra tells her daughter she consistently has to walk on egg shell(s) around her. She says My pain is deep for years and trying to make sure you kids are okay on top of that is not easy. Tamra and Simon’s two other children are Spencer, 13, and Sophia, 8.

Showing support for the OC star is another Housewife who is no stranger to teenage daughter drama. RHONJ Jacqueline Laurita has shown she’s got the back of her west coast friend.  The two have been cracking jokes regarding the situation back and forth via their Twitter accounts like this one:

image

The image Jac attached was of Faye Dunaway in her most infamous role as Mommy Dearest. The tweet got some people a little miffed, but it seemed to jive with Tamra’s quirky sense of humor. In fact it appears that Tamra and husband Eddie Judge are close with the Jac and Chris Laurita. The NJ couple got some sweet treats from their OC friends as evidenced by this very public thank you:
